Meger taught art from 1973 to 1979. In 1979 he resigned from teaching and released his first painting which sold out quickly. Meger wants to tell a story with each one of his paintings. Some of his paintings have taken up to five months to create. Since 1982 he has included hidden elements in his paintings. The curious and keen observers need to "seek out" the hidden images. From this, James has been known as the artist that. "More than Meets the Eye."
